After the film, Judy Norsigian, co-founder of Our Bodies Ourselves (https://www.ourbodiesourselves.org/), moderated a fascinating panel with speakers from Tufts Medical Center, Boston University, the Neighborhood Birth Center, Midwifery Associates, and the film’s director, Isadora Carneiro. They talked about barriers in Brazil and elsewhere for many women who want to have natural childbirth. As Judy said, “A movement to change this has begun, and this film will be part of that effort.”
In 2020 we are planning to launch a 10-city North America community screening tour to help raise awareness about and support for midwives.
