The communities featured in the film are some of the most vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19. In celebration of International Day of the Midwives, Women of Earth, in partnership with Rise Up & Care, is launching a fundraising campaign with the goal of raising US$10,000 by June 1. Every dollar counts and 100% of proceeds go towards basic necessities for the midwives featured in the film and their communities. For less than $10 you can provide food and sanitary supplies to a family of four for a week. Another way you can support this initiative is to spread the film’s inspiring message to more communities. The filmmakers are offering free virtual screenings as part of their 2020 screening tour to raise awareness about and support for midwives.
